OPEN Histroy

1989 Manila - Lausanne II, tentmaking networkers and practitioners met. A number of tentmaking
organizations were formed in the following years.

1997 Cape Town Tentmaking Internaional Exchange conference; the 3 field practitioners out of 100
in attendance decide a meeting for practitioners only is needed.

1997 Buffalo - OPEN is formed.

1998 Penang - First Huddle with three practitioners, guidelines for OPEN established.

1999 Bangkok - first annual OPEN Huddle, 12 attend.

2005 Bangkok - 48 attend the OPEN Huddle, decision is made to cap attendance at 40 at every
huddle to facilitate networking and relationship building.

2007 Another Huddle started in Istanbul, 44 attend. 

2008 200th BAM field practitioner registers with OPEN.

2008 Dubai - first ME Huddle, 28 attend.

2009 10th anniversary of the Bangkok Huddle. Hosting two OPEN Expos in US to bridge business
people with field workers.
